This old leather Amulet or KITABE scrolls is a leather pouch holding a written scroll inside.
Written for one particular person as a good luck and protective charm.
The text is written on calf skin in black ink with the Holy names written in red ink.
The language used is Ethiopic (or Ge'es), a Semitic language no longer spoken, but still used by the Ethiopian Orthodox church.
This talisman is large and  a stunning specimen, with one side open where the scroll can be seen.
